KORI Coyote winner of Red Dot Award 2014 in the category: Product Design

KORI Coyote Back protector / backpack is the winner of the international Red Dot design Award 2014.

The Red Dot Award, has established itself worldwide as one of the most sought-after quality marks for excellent design. In the current competition, the international 40-member expert panel discussed and evaluated 4,815 entries from 53 countries. But only designs which won over the jury with quality and innovative strength won an award. The Red Dot Design Award breaks down into the three disciplines Product Design, Communication Design and Design Concept.

KORI Coyote convinced in the category Red Dot Award: Product Design with the motivation: "KORI Coyote - Product Design 2014 with high design quality".

The transformation between back protection and backpack is elegantly made by opening two zippers, instantly the backpack “fall out” showing its user that there is more to this product. The neat and elegant design language communicates the simple beauty and passion given by motorcycling and other extreme sports.

This means that KORI Coyote will be represented in the yearbook for Red Dot award 2014, at an impressive special exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen from 8 July to 3 August 2014, and above all be able to received the coveted Red Dot quality seal as its deserved reward.

Our dear friend Mats Ögren has been in Norway for a couple of days of rondonee skiing. We like to share his experience with you all. 

The best thing with randonee skiing is to be able to enjoy the way up aswell as the way down. Going to untouched places, enjoying calmness and earning every meter of hight when you slide down - it is unbeatable.

Mats tried out the KORI-Hare sport socks for the first time and he was impressed by their ability to keep the feet dry and warm. 

"I usually have thicker socks but I alsways get damp and cold feet when I am out on the mountains. With KORI skiing socks my feet were warm all the time, impressed!" says Mats. 

During the trip Mats was also testing the new KORI Coyote solution which is under developement and we got some great input after the trip! This is the best way to get real user input for the product developement. We hope to be able to tell you more about it as soon as possible!

Mats is already looking forward to climb up the mountain again, hopefully there will be one more trip before this season is over!

A greeting from our friend Martina Larsson, who had a lovely week in Obergurgl in Austria. Lovely skiing with weather that brought both wind, fog and bright sunshine. Now, she will carry on to Hochköing, also in Austria for her first FWQ contest (freeride world qualification) (off-piste).

The start of the season is always special

Start of the season is always special, we are happy to share some pictures from our friend Martin Larsson who, despite unusually poor snow conditions, were given the chance to start the skiing season in the beginning of December last year.

After a giving few lessons as a skiing instructor Martina Larsson got some hours of quality time alone, together with the beautiful snow-capped mountains.

Martina were skiing with KORI Hare, our knee-length sports sock that fits perfectly in the skiing boots, the sock does not slip down and it helps keeping a pleasant climate for the feet.

It's like silk for the soul...

We want to share with you an amazing experience from one of our users Margareta Olenmark who's been hiking with KORI Squirrel sport socks in the alps of Switzerland:

Once a year, I go hiking in the Alps, this time we went to the Gotthard massifs in Switzerland. It's like silk for the soul to go along with someone you really like and just enjoy presence. Talking sometimes , being quiet most of the time and just listening to the silence. Being away from all the dos and donts and all the stress. The words that are repeated time after time is "ohh how beautiful it is" or "oh, life is good". The only thing you see are mountains all around, maybe another person, an ibex and perhaps marmots if you're lucky. 

Each day, we took about 6 hours of hiking up and down mountains , trails, rocks and streams. It is important to to walk in good shoes and socks, comfortable shorts and top while carrying a heavy backpack with content that will suffice, in our case, for 3 days. You get warm and sweaty, so a quick cooling plunge in a spring or alp-lake wasnt wrong at all and then a small picnic with a good wine which we had in your backpack - WONDERFUL.

In the evening it is nice to dressoff, letting the shoes and socks dry in the chalet until the next day, finnishing the day with a good soup or pasta and a cold beer before falling asleep, of course, first a look at the black night sky with thousands of stars that light up for me and for others.

Next day looks the same but with a little pain in the legs and neck, though, as the masseur I am it is easily solved with a little massage and some Arnica and Magnesium that I have with me. It is not difficult to start the next day's hike when you encounter the sun rising over the the mountain peaks, at 2500m above sea level with beautiful clear air, amazing view - we talk sometimes , we are quiet most of the times ...

Product development - creativity is at its peak!

Creativity is at its peak right now - our future products seem promising - we'll just get to the last details before we get out of the "fog" ..... but right now it feels very good for next season :-)
