KORI began as a groundbreaking innovation for motorcyclists, a vision of perfect freedom and uncompromised safety.
Today, we are growing into a brand with genuinely developed products with high Swedish made quality and we have
taken our vision of freedom and safety to meet sports enthusiasts with different specializations that and likeminded needs.

For us it is the feeling and experience of the sport or activity that sets focus on which needs to be solved and how
the products should be designed.

Our first product, KORI-D3O which is a new concept of back protectors that can be transformed into a back pack.
In this blog you will follow our journey and our inspirations.

Review: Protection when motorcycling and when skiing!

soft comfortable back protector backpack skiing kori coyote

Anders has been driving motorcycles for years and he always drives with a back protector, but he would never put on his motorcycle back protection when skiing "you have other demands on movement when skiing than when riding a motorcycle."
Anders has been away skiing with KORI Coyote on his back. He experienced the feeling of protection as "You even forget that you have it on, did not even think about it, but very nice to feel protected on the skis too".
Anders did not get the opportunity to use the backpack feature during, but he feels the practical benefit of always having extra storage ready if needed. On the motorcycle, however, he feels that the feature to make transform the back protector to the backpack is brilliant - now he just waits in the spring.

Powder and sunshine with KORI

kori ocelot back protector skiing lina sundgren

We've received a greeting from our new test person Lina Sundgren who is currently in Italy in bright sunshine with lovely powder-covered mountains.

High mountains is her call, skiing is her passion and adventure is her middle name!
During 2013, Lina Sundgren will be out and test KORIOcelot our new back protector that will be launched next winter season. Lina is Environmental consultant at WSP in Malmö, she has worked for Ski Unlimited since 2006, she is involved in Camp Lofoten, and she has lived in both the Norwegian Lofoten and in the Alps.

We've followed her when she walked up the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, which brought both skiing and climbing and we will get to follow her to a ski adventure in Davos (Switzerland), in Morge (Italy), in Charmonix (France) and not to forget her favorite place on earth, Henningsvaer, Lofoten (Norway), where she will join tours and be involved in the CampLofoten. It feels incredibly inspiring for us to follow Lina on her adventures!

Linas impression KORI Ocelot is that it is flexible, lightweight and comfortable!

Creative meeting with great girls

creative meeting to meet the alpine market with kori back protector

Yesterday I was in a meeting with three great girls with creative ideas and well thought through strategies. They are working in a project with KORI to guide us into the stunning alpine world. A world that many of us recognize and long for each year, high mountains and glittering white slopes, environments and emotions that are explained with words like freedom, flexibility and spontaneity - just the words that KORI stands for, with these feeling as a starting point, KORI enriches the experience with safety.

We want to show the market that the back protector does not need bulky, stiff and uncomfortable, with KORI, they may even be soft, comfortable and practical. The goal is to make it easy for the alpine world to know and experience the benefits that KORI carries over other back protectors on the market.
Four great girls (yes, self-confident as I am, I include myself as one in the great gang) who sit together and discuss opportunities that creates an image of the future, can it be more inspiring?!

Delightful protection

kori back protector backpack delighted user on trip to tylösand

We would like to share some words from our friend Marie who won her KORI at the summer-bike-meet at Hanksville Farm. She has been able to use the protector during a trip down the south-west coast in Sweden for the yearly meeting of YCC (Yamaha custom club) at First camp in Tylösand.

Marie sent us a greeting:
"The protector is incredibly comfortable, you do not feel it!!!! It is smooth, supple and absolutely wonderful!!!! :-)"

She also shared her thoughts on Facebook:
”I am wearing the KORI-protection I won at ”The Farm”, now it will show what it is worth. And it is wonderfully comfortable, fits like a glove! I am very positive to it - big plus is that it can be used to backpack so you can to bring all things when you rest and do not want to leave the jacket and stuff on the bike. I give it the highest grade! :-) "

The KORI protector swallows a lot and a little more.... :-) "

Motorcycle traveling in Tuscany

We want to share a summer memory from Tuscany. During summer, KORI followed Jonas from SMC on a motorcycle trip to Tuscany. Jonas, a travel guide at SMC (Sveriges Motorcyklister) has done completed motorcycle adventure travelling around the whole world, this year they went to Tuscany and on the back Jonas had the KORI back protector / backpack!

"The back protector is very comfortable to wear. Also the function of transforming to a backpack is very good, I used it as a backpack on several occasions but never while driving!"
- Jonas

2 x KORI = Twice as good !

KORI on the bike, both with and without a motor!

On the motorcycle: end the week on the design exhibition (where I will be exhibiting my thesis!) On old cornershop "Hemköp" in central city of Lund. Park on a back street, undress, pack up and go away. Piece of cake, as always!

On your bike: earlier this spring I moved (with partner and cat) into the country, about 20kms to the office with pretty nice bike paths. My graduation present from myself and my partner became this amazing bike! In addition to a test drive to the office last week, got to show what it went for this weekend. With an average speed of 28km/h still feels quite ok, as the first round on a windy Sunday afternoon! Obviously KORI went on my back for the bike test!

KORI felt comfortable, flexible, easy and above all adaptable to the content. Thanks to KORII had quick access to water (more about this later), the opportunity to have an extra shirt with, good place for mobile (which of course was to measure and map the entire tour) .. . after testing the bike with KORI, I can hardly imagine to jump on the bike again without ..
Otherwise it´s been a slow day at the office. In addition to a newly filed application for the Innovation Award (kudos Emil!!)
So I have tried to compile clauses and materials to begin the as yet little secretive collaboration as we speak so plenty of :-) this is difficult and it takes time. .. but with the help of great lawyers who can handle this type of writings we get an understanding of what we are getting into before we take the next step forward.
