KORI began as a groundbreaking innovation for motorcyclists, a vision of perfect freedom and uncompromised safety.
Today, we are growing into a brand with genuinely developed products with high Swedish made quality and we have
taken our vision of freedom and safety to meet sports enthusiasts with different specializations that and likeminded needs.

For us it is the feeling and experience of the sport or activity that sets focus on which needs to be solved and how
the products should be designed.

Our first product, KORI-D3O which is a new concept of back protectors that can be transformed into a back pack.
In this blog you will follow our journey and our inspirations.

You can not take mobility for granted.

wheelchair after operation use protection

Have you ever thought about the "everyday luxury" and the physical activity to be able to cut your own toenails?

There's a lot of heart in our work with safety equipment, we look at what we do as an opportunity to endorse the human freedom to activate the body and experience the environment, simply giving the soul some “feel good”. This opportunity may appear to be obvious, abstract and fuzzy but the fact is that when it is taken away, this obvious freedom turns to something very real and troubling.
I have had the misfortune to experience a bad hip, not as bad as an injured back, nor so bad that it has not been possible to fix, but bad enough to experience the imprisoned and dependent feeling of having limited mobility, dependent on others and incapable to activate my body and experience adventures and physical challenges.

Some days ago something a bit odd struck methought on the subject, for the first time in six months, since my last operation, I managed to cut my own toenails myself. Previously, due to limited physical capability and pain, I could not reach them and therefore not cut them. Have you ever thought about the physical activity to be able to cut your own toenails yourself is an everyday luxury?

Nah, me neither. At least not before, but some days ago the realization came to me, the feeling of a somebody that sits down on his knees in front of you, takes out a pair of scissors and put it on your toes are not luxurious but rather frightening and inferior.

I am happy that today I can cut my own toenails, I'm happy that I will be fully restored from my injury. But there are other injuries that can change your life drastically, and the back is one of those parts of your body that you are most dependent on, the back is the connection between your brain and your body, it is the spine that makes you wiggle your toes and cut your toenails - an everyday luxury that I hope to have with me the rest of my life.

Musikhjälpen - We hope to give freedom and adventure in the everyday life.

KORI is no big company, we are a new and still very small business but we are a kind of business want to help. Even though we have no sales to brag about yet, we still believe that you allways can help with the resources you have. Therefore, we have just given one of our products to the Music aid (Musikhjälpen) auction here in Sweden!

Every minute a child dies by causes of bad water. Music aid helps children in the slum, alover the world to get access to fresch water.

Our KORI Coyote is a Swedish invention that was born to experience freedom and sporting adventures. By giving away one of our Coyote back protectors to the auction we hope to help children in the slums towards good health, maybe that can lead to a difference where clean water can create fun, freedom and adventure in their everyday life.

Now we challenge all other business in this country, to at least do the same - everyone can contribute!

KORI - Encouraging Freedom. Encouraging Safety.

We all have something in common..

kori protection for motorcycling, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile, skate, parkour
KORI is about protecting Your body & spine...
...simply preserving Your core.
When we designed the brand KORI we searched for a way to describe the beautiful feeling and enthusiasm encountered by driving a motorcycle… but we soon realised that motorcycling only was one of many medium to experience these certain feelings.

Whether it is on the road, in the slope, on water or in a rail parc the experience we are approaching is all about the freedom of being outside, close to nature and exploring new environments, undertaking new challenges and provoke your personal boundaries, feeling that you are alive.

We have asked people; motorcyclists, skiers, snowboarders, snowmobilers, skaters, climbers and other sport enthusiast, what encourages them in their sport… and the responses are very alike, here are a selection:

“It is a feeling of undisclosed freedom. The feeling of flexibility and mobility.”
“It gives Freedom and serenity”
“It is a feeling of being proud, special and unique”
“It is Freedom. The wind and the smell of different shades of nature.”
“It is a dose of adrenaline”
“It is the total concentration on the interaction between myself, my equipment and the laws of nature given in an almost artistic sense. It is beautiful in a way.”
“It is Adrenaline and flexibility -> Freedom”
“It is almost like flying, though without a plane”

This “it” that is described is the core-feeling that evolves the enthusiasm that surrounds these sports. KORI is our interpretation of the word core in this context.

So... on roads that are empty and curvy … slopes that are dazzling white and powdery… fields, green and wavy or white and endless.. we all have something in common, we have “it” in common.

KORI - Encouraging freedom. Encouraging Safety.

Winners are chosen!

We have just gone through all the contributers to a quizz we had this summer. We had a tiebreaker where to say what is the best thing about riding a motorcycle. There were so many beautiful motivations, memories and stories, but we finally chose our five winners!

We would like to share one of them with you:

The feeling of freedom is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I ride away and take a picnic and we forget time and space. It's good to be able to calm down in this stressful world we live in :)

This is what it is all about, get away and spend some time, forget some time, forget some space... out in nature on a motorcycle, a pair of skis, a bicycle or what ever...

All the winners will soon, very soon be announced and contacted! Hihi..

We want to be different, we are different!

kori back protector showing at the first time at the motorcycle fair in gotherburg 2012
From the very beginning we knew we did not want to become one in the crowd. We strive to be different and go our own way. On Swedens Largest Motorcycle fair in Gothenburg we got confirmation that we have succeeded.
Two girls, a mother and her daughter went to a motorcycle fair in Gothenburg.
Two girls, one man and another two girls, dressed in white and black and a beanie with a tassel ... one goes with something that looks like a back protector or maybe a flat backpack, the other goes with something that resembles a large hiking backpack , or (as a lot of people said) a packed child wearing a motorcycle helmet ...
KORI was at the fair with a product that never existed before. A design that is plain and uncomplicated. A brand whose name and history comes from the exciting and sprightly feeling that comes from being out “in the wild" on the bike or whatever suits the interests of users and seasonal weather.
Two girls, one man and another two girls that encourages the visitors to dream of new ways of how to use their motorcycle, new opportunities - a new feeling of freedom. Two girls, a mother and her daughter who clearly draws attention at the fair and made many feel that this year's motorcycle season will be different.

Two days to go..

I have been counting days.. weeks and month.
I” became ”we” and we have been working days, month, years.

The dates has changed several times.
The plan has changed several times.
But the goal has always stayed the same: Be able to offer a new solution, offer KORI: encourage freedom while encouraging safety.

Today the countdown is two days.. when this day is over, we are one day to go.

Am I ready for this day?
Are we ready?
Actually I dont know…

But what I do know is: KORI is ready.

Love of Adventure!

Last summer both me and KORI went on adventures:
Traveling in Sweden on a motorcycle.

But today I would like to highlight two adventurers who left the everyday life and dared to follow their lust for adventure: Roberto and Jonas from "Escape Everyday life" interviewed on swedish radio station P3 yesterday morning. Their journeys awakens the desire to travel and to challenge yourself and your motorcycle!
Read about their motorcycle trips around the world on their blog.
http://escapeeverydaylife.com/

I myself think that my life's adventure is KORI, in terms of speaking, this is a satisfaction for me to escape everyday life, to go my own way and to ensure that my profession will be an adventure that revolves around something I believe in and love - the feeling of freedom, flexibility and spontaneity - the freedom to run around on my motorcycle...

One thing I love about myself is that I'm inspired by others .. Roberto and Jonas inspires me - they inspires KORI!
